Audio not Playing in Browser window

I am having an issue with FCP where I am not hearing the audio in the browser window while skimming the clip but the sound bar shows audio is supposedly playing. I have done shortcuts to hear the play back like put the audio in the left speaker or right. It's a lot of audio to go over due to the podcasts I have to edit. Is there a fix for this and when exactly did this happen? I don't remember an update happening. I just want to skim and hear the audio need help or is this a software issue.

Make sure audio skimming is turned on. The button in the timeline should be blue.

Trash your preferences to reset then.

What’s the computer? How is the sound being monitored? Because of the audio configuration of the clips they might behave differently in the browser than in a project.

Yes everything is as normal when I do all my edits even in previous projects and newly uploaded projects it’s happening. The buttons are on and time line is blue. When I change the sound in the browser to left or right or compound clip them the audio works but that’s to much and I might forget it in the edits when on main timeline.

Fully spec M1 Mac Studio. I’m using the Scarlett for my audio in and outs. It won’t play the audio if recorded separately but in camera audio with video plays back. I trashed the settings to restart uninstalled reinstalled everything. It’s wierd just out of the blue it happened over night. So if I take the audio off mono or stereo and put it left speaker it plays skimming back. It’s really wierd.
