How to Resolve Duplicate Fonts

I opened the Font Book and under he User I selected a font and there is a note advising there are multiple copies installed. It goes on say use the Resolve Duplicates to deactivate the copies not in use. I went to the Edit menu and the Resolve Duplicates option is dimmed.

I could use some help with the Resolve command

 24" iMac and 13" MacBook Pro both w/4GB , Mac OS X (10.6.4)

Problem solved my messing around. I used the Spotlight and it showed me the font was install in both root and user so I removed the font from the Macintosh HD/Library/Fonts folder and this ditched the nag note in the font book

Thanks for reading but issue is solved
