How to clear up Messages storage on my iPhone?
I've cleared all messages from the app and set a 30 day retention but it's still taking my 15G of storage

Let's take a look and see if we can find where that data is located.
Tap on Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Messages. You should see different categories of data here.
To delete, either swipe left on each item, or tap "Edit" in the upper right corner. You select the ones you want to move to the Trash.
