Clearing or locating App Data - Instagram

Hi all,

New to iPhone and still trying to figure my way around the OS.

How do you delete App Data on iOS without deleting the app?

My Instagram app in the storage section shows to have 5GB of data under Documents and Data after I uploaded a couple of videos on IG.

They are not saved in my Photo gallery or in the Files app, I can't find them anywhere but would like to free up the space.

How do I clean the App Data or where can I find these files?

This is not caused by the "save originals" because that is turned off already.

Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

Hey there dannigm96,

We wanted to confirm a few things that were unclear from the details in your post, along with ruling out some possible causes:

  1. First, we see that you have iOS 16 installed, but the latest version is iOS 16.0.2. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone
  3. What options do you have when you go back to viewing the Instagram storage under Settings > General > iPhone Storage?

Cheers!
