.INF Files

Win7.

My computer is opening Arduino when I click on the Apple usbaapl64.inf file

that is in the APPLE program Files area as recommended for connecting my Iphone via USB.

Right clicking that file should show an install option, but only shows Arduino.

My system will not let me erase or revise the .inf type in File Type Association.

My problem was with system files being opened by an installed program rather than the operating system.

ie: each time that a .inf file was used during a program installation, the Arduino program would open.

Somehow the file designator .inf got onto the list of file types (file associations) where system files do not belong.

The cure was to DELETE the .inf file type from the associations stack in the registry.

.inf and other system files were never intended to be on the "file associations" list with .jpg, etc.
