I am getting the Lock Screen and holding the power button does not bring up the options mentioned still goes to a Lock Screen. Anything else I can do? I have a iMac that is about 5 years old and has worked perfectly to date

That screen is not a "lock" screen. That screen indicates it can't find an appropriate operating system for the Mac. This may be due to directory damage, or worse, the hard disk may be damaged. Bring it in to service if DIsk Urility in Recovery mode can't repair it.
It sounds like you have configured Openfirmware password.

No maybe I didn’t explain well, the computer just shows the circle with the line through it and a black screen. When I turn off and on and hold the power button I don’t get the menu it just goes back to the circle after showing the apple and progress bar for a minute or so
Thanks and that is exactly what I did but it won’t go to the set up screen by holding the power button it only goes to the apple logo then the Lock Screen
