Apple Watch will not update

Why won’t my Apple Watch Series 3 update to the I phone iOS 16.0.2 as when I try to it says update unavailable and I’ve done it all from erasing and starting over to restarting my watch and I get the message to sync so I do and then it tells me it cannot
