Apple Watch Series 8 scratches

Is it normal for the Apple Watch 8 to have a lot of scratches after 2 weeks of normal use? I am asking because I used Garmin Vivoactive 3 (Gorilla Glass 3) before and after 4 years of use it looks much better than the Apple Watch after 2 weeks.

I am dealing with the same issue! My phone of 8 years has less scratches than my new watch does after 10 days. (In fact, my phone doesn't have any scratches...). I have friends and family whose 2yo Apple watches have glass that looks better than my new 8. It would be understandable if I did something exciting to cause the scratches, but alas, those 10 days were only filled with mundate daily tasks like driving, work, shopping, etc.

I don't understand how their uncased watches look better than my new one. It's very frustrating.

If you want an Apple Watch which can't scratch, buy the Stainless Steel model. It comes with Sapphire Glass which is almost impossible to scratch. It costs more, but is well worth the difference. The Aluminum watches have glass which can scratch (they call it ion-X glass, but it scratches) and I always recommend a screen protector on those versions. A screen protector will hide the scratches and prevent new scratches and they can be easily replaced. Screen Protectors for Apple Watch are easy to find at Amazon and in the US at any BestBuy Store.

Hi labun7,

Thanks for posting in Apple Communities.

While the LTPO OLED display is designed to handle everyday wear, it is possible to scratch the glass. This would need to serviced for cosmetic damage to return the display back to scratch-free surface. You can contact Apple Support for options or locate Apple Authorized Service Provider to replace the display.
