CAC card not reading with OS Monterey

MacBook Pro M1 not reading CAC card after OS Monterrey. All certs have been properly installed, CAC card is current with current drivers. Safari/Chrome can access .mil websites but CAC is not reading. It was all working great 2 days ago under Monterey 12.6, and suddenly stopped working, I did not change settings!

To follow up on this, I just realized my CAC ID is expired. I won't be able to verify until I get a new CAC, but I suspect that's why I couldn't access those websites, and not because of something in macOS.

Hi haideki24,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having some issues with your CAC card. It sounds like you've tried some great troubleshooting so far in testing multiple browsers.

It might also be helpful to test whether this occurs in a private browsing window. As mentioned in Use Private Browsing in Safari on Mac - Apple Support this keeps cache and cookies from being saved and can help isolate where the issue occurs.

Take care.
