Notifications go through in focus mode

Hello, while any of the focus mode on my iPhone 11 are on, I still receive notification with sound. None of my contacts are allowed, no apps are allowed but notifications go trough with sound. In fact, focus mode doesn't make any difference. I tried deleting them and restart from scratch, but nothing is working the way it should. It used to work since I use them all the time, but now my phone beeps all the time for notifications even with focus mode on.

Any ideas where the problem is coming from? It seems to me that it started when I updated to iOS 16. Might not be the problem, but as I said I have used the same focus mode for a long time (since they were launched) and I haven't changed anything in their setup, so why aren't they working properly now?

thanks for your help

Greetings serge281,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. Are you using the iPhone when this occurs? We ask because Focus is designed to silence calls and notifications while the device is locked. If the device is in use, you may still get incoming alerts. So let's make sure that you have the proper steps from the Apple Support article: Use Do Not Disturb with Focus on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"Turn on Do Not Disturb

  1. Go to Settings > Focus.
  2. Tap Do Not Disturb.
  3. Under Turn on Automatically, set Do Not Disturb to turn on automatically at a certain time, location, or while using a certain app.

To turn on Do Not Disturb from Control Center:

  1. Open Control Center on your iPhone or iPod touch, or on your iPad
  2. Touch and hold Focus, then tap Do Not Disturb."

If you are set up correctly and this issue persists, get in touch with Apple Support for additional assistance:
