Hello Curry007,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities!

Let's confirm the app is up-to-date as third-party apps typically have updates available after recent releases of software updates. For assistance with updating apps, check out the following steps: How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support

How to manually update apps on your iPhone or iPad

1. Open the App Store.

2. Tap your profile icon at the top of the screen.

3. Scroll to see pending updates and release notes. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All.

How to manually update apps on your Apple Watch

1. Open the App Store and scroll down to the bottom.

2. Tap Account.

3. Tap Updates.

4. Tap Update next to an app to update only that app, or tap Update All.

If you're up-to-date with the latest available app and software updates, see if you're able to use Now Playing to control any other audio on your Apple Watch. This will help to determine whether this relates to all audio control and streaming, or just Spotify. For assistance with using Now Playing, take a look at this resource: Use Now Playing on Apple Watch - Apple Support

Should you determine this is only occurring with the Spotify app, you'll want to work directly with them as an update would be needed for the app. You can reach out using this link: Spotify Support

Hello,

I received an email from Spotify a couple of weeks ago saying this when WatchOS 9 was released.

"Apple WatchOS 9 introduces a bug that will cause Spotify streaming on the Apple Watch to stop working. We encourage Spotify Apple Watch users to not install the WatchOS 9 update until Apple implements a fix. Users already affected can instead download their content to their Apple Watch and listen offline or stream from their phones."

Have a great day!
