Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation) have model numbers A1378, A1427, or A1469. These numbers can be found on the bottom of the device, or in the menu Settings﹥General﹥About﹥Model﹥.
The back of these models have a Micro-USB port below the HDMI port. Other models do not have Micro-USB.
Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation) are sized 3.9×3.9×0.9 inch (9.9×9.9×2.3 cm). The later models are taller (1.4 inch/3.6 cm).

I think Apple should take a stance here. This just had a negative impact on me buying products from them. I am going to be replacing my AppleTV 3's now but not going to buy Apple products this time. I wish this wasn't that case but it is what it is.
Apple cannot force Hulu to support a ten-year-old operating system (especially as Apple barely supports it). Also, Apple isn't reading here to know what you think. You can let them know here:
Companies like Hulu and Netflix pull support from outdated hardware regularly. Netflix stopped supporting older Roku devices back in 2019:

I confirmed with Hulu and told them this is BS. They said I just need to go buy new devices for my TV and then Hulu will work again. I asked them iff they were paying for all those devices and they said, "Of course not". Can you imagine if you car just stopped working one day and the car companies response was, "Sorry we don't support that car anymore. Please buy a new one if you want to drive."

I’m not sure what generation I have … how can I find out? Thanks!
That’s just gross! Thank you for responding
I am going to be replacing …
You’ll find that any media player device from any brand has cut-off dates for support and services on old hardware. The grass isn’t greener elsewhere.
