Pixelated display with certain apps

My display is suddenly limited to a pixelated inch-high but only with certain apps I have used for a long time -- Google Maps and Gaiagps.com. I have run disk utility and it says my display system is fine. How can I fix this?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.6

Hey there urbananchorite,

We'd like to help, but we'll need more details about what you're describing. We understand that this is an issue with the screen while using Google Maps and a third-party website, but we did not understand what you meant by 'pixelated inch-high' occurring. The more details you provide, the better we'll understand what's happening.

In the meantime, we'd like to rule out some general possible causes:

  1. Is this happening with the built-in display on your MacBook Pro, or does it occur with an external display?
  2. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
  3. We see that you're already up to date with macOS 12.6, but we also recommend making sure that all apps are up to date: How to manually update apps on your Apple device.

Cheers.
