E-mail disappeared without a trace

Hi!

I’m using Hotmail as e-mail supplier on an XS running on iOS16.

This happened now twice, I replied to an e-mail, pressed the send button and the e-mail has vanished. Not among the sent items, not in outbox, completely gone. Recepient never got my e-mail. Checked through web browser, the e-mail is gone there too as if I dremt writing it. A few days later same thing happened again.

Needless to say this is not my first e-mail but except these two cases I never encountered or heard of anything similar.

Any thoughts what’s going on?

Hello Krille02,

What you are describing is certainly an unusual experience.

We would suggest that you power cycle the iPhone by pressing and holding either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears. Drag the slider and wait 30 seconds for the device to turn off. While simple, this can refresh the iOS, apps and connections. More information is available here: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

If it continues, you will want to narrow it down to either the internet service provider, or the mail app. Do this by using a web browser and sending emails from there, rather than the Mail app.

This will provide information on where to start looking.
