But with a thunderbolt 3 to USB adapter I was able to connect it to 2010 MacBook Pro. But it’s not working. Wondering if there is no work around??? Or if my graphic card is just not compatible with EGPU
The USB on a 2010 model is USB 2. That is good for at most, 480 M bit/sec.
the ThunderBolt-2 on that MacBook Pro is good for 20 G bits/sec, about 40 times faster. That is still not as fast as the Sonnet device expects, but is getting somewhat closer.
Apple sells a ThunderBolt-3 <-> ThunderBolt-2 adapter for about US$50. but even at that, no guarantees it will work.
