Well you could be on to something. It does only appear on wallpaper ie it is absent on library and search pages which don’t have the wallpaper in the background. However the wallpaper stops short of the top of the phone where battery and signal are displayed?
I repeat my question: Might it be on your wallpaper image? If you change the wallpaper is it still there?
Here are all of the iOS icons→Status icons and symbols on your iPhone - Apple Support. I don’t see what are describing. Might it be on your wallpaper image?
Hope this helps
What model phone is that? Might it be an indication that you can swipe down from that corner to view the Control Center?
I’ve changed the wallpaper and it has disappeared. I find this rather bizarre but it’s a fix. Thanks for your input.
