LogiTech MX Master 3 just stops working sporadically

I've seen other threads about the scroll stops working after updating the LogiOptions software. That's NOT what's happening for me. I have the latest software and I have the privacy settings set correctly. My mouse works fine after rebooting. Every mouse feature, the scroll and every button work perfectly. Then, at random times of using my macbook pro or my mac mini.... the scroll and buttons just stop working. The only solution is to reboot the machine.

Why is this happening? Any solution other than a reboot?
