Auto Appearance Not Working in ios 16

I'm using the 14 pro on 16.0.2, the auto appearance still does not automatically toggle between light and dark mode. I've tried setting it to sunrise/sunset AND a custom time, neither works. Also tried resetting the phone, no help. Is this a known bug? Is it iOS 16 or the 14 pro? I've also confirmed all system services are toggled on.


Thanks for any perspective offered!

Have you set the Automatic Time Zone? -->


Change the date and time on iPhone

  1. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time.
  2. Turn on any of the following: Set Automatically: iPhone gets the correct time over the network and updates it for the time zone you're in.
