The PT-700 is listed as supported by the (free) Brother P-Touch Editor, available from the Mac App store:

What you should do is go to the Brother support sit and find a driver that is released to work specifically with the Mac operating system you have installed. If one is not available, then ask Brother when one will be. That is what you need unless the Brother printer can work with the Air Print feature.
When dealing with 32 vs 64 bit issues it will always be about upgrading the software that runs the unit.
Thanks. Previous answers linked to Windows driver. Can you tell me if this should work with hardwire connection?
My machine is 64. The app refuses to upgrade.
The Brother P-Touch Editor app works without issue with my Brother PT-9500PC labeler and Brother QL-500 printer both connected via USB.
