Transferring data to new phone. Direct Vs ICloud download.

I just got my Iphone14Pro. Which is better to transfer data? Directly phone to phone or via iCloud download? I know it takes a shorter time via the latter but will everything even the widgets stay the same as per current iPhone?

Hello noritanoh,

Both options should help with bringing across the same apps, photos, widgets, Home Screen layout, etc. (assuming that the iCloud backup is fully updated, if that route is chosen).

This page here can help out with setting up an iPhone as well: Set up your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

The page will have further info on each step, but the general steps it covers are the following:

1. Turn on your iPhone or iPad
2. Use Quick Start or set up manually
3. Activate your iPhone or iPad
4. Set up Face ID or Touch ID and create a passcode
5. Restore or transfer your data and apps
6. Sign in with your Apple ID
7. Turn on automatic updates and set up other features
8. Set up Siri and other services
9. Set up Screen Time and more display options

Cheers.
