My MacBook Air M1 screen cracked for no apparent reason

EXACT same issue. Left alone on the table closed—in a.m. big crack with a 1-2”vertical black line. Purchased from US, now in Greece. I thought I was safe as it was new from Apple 2021. -I have Apple Care but no authorised Apple repair dealers here. #notcorrectapple

2023 16” M2Pro MacBook Pro screen issue. So, for some unknown reason my 2023 MacBook Pro has developed a cracked screen. I simply opened the machine and there was a tornado shaped crack from top to bottom - with the rest of the screen now just black. The thing is - it’s under warrantee but the ‘geniuses’ at Apple said it’s not covered as it’s a user caused issue. I opened the machine via the centre lip so I’m at a loss as to how that constitutes user damage. Additionally, under a magnifying glass the crack seems to have originated from an internal screw holding the FaceTime camera etc to the outer casing. So my question is simple - before I refer the issue to the consumer affairs ombudsman, is there any way to get a second opinion on the issue by Apple or it’s authorised repairers, as it’s clearly a manufacturing defect and I’m not paying almost $3k to get a $4k machine that’s still under warranty repaired.

m2 screen crack I’ve purchased my 14” M2 MacBook Pro on 5/15/23, and the screen cracked on 6/28/23. It has no case, keyboard cover, camera cover, or mousepad protector. In other words, not a thing on it to interfere with the screen. I have never taken it out of my house and keep it where I kept my last MacBook Pro. I baby these machines because they are how I make my living. And, by the way, this is my 4th MacBook, and I have never broken a screen, nor on any iPads or iPhones. Of course I have to pay $99 for the defect to be fixed, and the rep who called me said I would have to pay another $99 if if happens again. I have a feeling it will. I’m curious as to how many people this has happened to and how Apple dealt with it. Is there a fix to this defect? Also, has it happened to you more than once?

If you purchased your MacBook Pro from the states, try to contact Apple support in US or Apple Authorized Service Provider in US.
