If have a used Mac desktop which was not reset by previous owner. How do I restore it without Apple ID or password?

iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021, 2 ports)

Based on what you're describing it sounds like your Mac is Activation Locked. This article can provide some more info about that: Activation Lock for Mac - Apple Support


If you purchased this second hand, you'll want to reach out to the person who sold it to you to see if they can remove the lock on their end. If not, and you have proof of purchase documentation, you can request it's removal here: How to remove Activation Lock - Apple Support
