Can I put $15 back into an iTunes gift card?
If I have a $15 iTunes gift card, and I didn’t mean to redeem it yet, can I put the $15 back into the gift card.

Generally no to “real money”; once you’ve redeemed it onto your AppleID, it can only be used for Apple purchases.
