Lost iPhone - Theft and Loss coverage

So it's actually true that if the Find My app is turned off at the time you lost your phone that the claim will be rejected? I'm going through the review process right now with AIG, it's taking forever, and I'm guessing that's why. What are the other requirements to have the claim approved? Is there any recourse, or am I just screwed because of some BS technicalities and stipulations on the coverage that are hidden in the fine print?

It’s one of the main requirements so yes, if you fail to follow that very upfront requirement your claim will be rejected. It’s really not hidden in the fine print.

No recourse…unfortunately, if you didn’t have it on then you will have to replace your phone out of pocket.

I do always have it turned on! At least I did. I took it in for service to replace cracked glass on the display a couple weeks previous to losing it, and they ask you to turn off Find My when you do that. Just never got turned back on. So, coincidentally in those string of events, I ended up screwing myself it looks like.
