Custom email - Replace sig1.dkim.EXAMPLE.COM.at.icloudmailadmin.com.

I honestly think people should have made it clear that you have to replace sig1.dkim.EXAMPLE.COM.at.icloudmailadmin.com. with your actual own domain name. It's mentioned absolutely nowhere in the instructions and if you simply copy-paste their stuff from the instructions, the verification will fail.

These are user-to-use forums. Unfortunately, Apple barely reads these forums as it is on their own time. So, recommend to Apple that the make it such. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback their receive on something, the more the will know what suits their customers' needs, and what to include in updates to come.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iCloud - Apple
  2. Select: "Account" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: on why you want this to be an option. Include the URL of this thread.

As others said

sig1.dkim.EXAMPLE.COM.at.icloudmailadmin.com.

sig1.dkim.EXAMPLE.ORG.at.icloudmailadmin.com.

EXAMPLE.COM

EXAMPLE.ORG

should be replaced with whatever your domain name is.

The reason I'm talking about this is it may be beneficial to you in the future and to anyone reading this.

You will see this in the future if you are registering domains you will see this in the future if you are registering domains and setting them up for use.

99% of all DNS systems and network Admins give the same advice using example.com” & example.org are made to be a placeholder.

“Certain domains are set aside and nominally registered to “IANA” for specific policy or technical purposes.

Example domains

As described in RFC 2606 and RFC 6761, a number of domains such as example.com and example.org are maintained for documentation purposes.

These domains may be used as illustrative examples in documents without prior coordination with us. They are not available for registration or transfer.”
