That’s your decision. I’ve used an iPhone case—typically an Apple case—that does not cover the camera, and have never had camera issues across any of the iPhone models I’ve used. Some folks will use a folio- or wallet-style case, which protects the entire iPhone. If you’re prone to dropping your device, such as participating in activities that might damage the iPhone such as rock climbing or firefighting, you may well want the added protection of a camera cover or a full-coverage shell case. The experience of others can and will differ, of course.
