My Apple Watch is unpaired but still showing in my Watch app

Hello!

I sold my Apple Watch 7 to a friend and the watch has been repaired to another phone twice now. However, in my Watch app, it still says my watch is paired to my phone! I have chatted with Apple support about this at least 5 or 6 times now and they keep looping me around and do not know how to fix this issue. I refuse to wait around in an Apple Store to fix something I should be able to fix from my phone or MacBook.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

Yes. I work for AT&T so I’m fairly well versed in these matters, but I’ve also had a couple customers with this issue so I wanted to reach out for any other tips or tricks to get the watch app to recognize that the watch is no longer paired.

I however did read that link and fully verified that all steps have been followed. What’s even more weird, is that the watch reset and it was removed from my app, and it showed back up on my phone after an update!

In terms of my most recent customer, he erased it from his phone and after returning it, it’s still showing. Truly peculiar.
