MagSafe 3 charger stopped working for no reason

My 16" MBP M1 MAX is still under warranty.

My MagSafe 3 charger cable/block stopped working.

Can I get a replacement under warranty?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.6

Yes, it is covered.


However if, under System Preferences => Battery, select Battery, if Optimized battery charging is selected, this will mean that sometimes your Mac will not charge even though the charger is connected. This is to avoid have the battery stay at 100% for extended periods. Sometimes the battery will stay at 75% or 80% approximately to avoid it staying at 100% all the time. This is managed by the MacOS. If you see this behavior, it does not mean your charger is broken.
