Hi there,
I've been experiencing frequent crashes with an application. The developer has asked for a crash log report. Are these reports safe to share? Do they contain any sensitive information that I would not want to share with a stranger? The log report I'm referring to are stored in this folder.
~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

Correct. People post crash logs to this site routinely. It's ok for a developer to ask for them.
Generally speaking yes. macOS often goes to extremes to protect your personal information and recent versions obscure it from even system logs.
They are plain text and you can read them yourself to confirm before sending though.

Thanks for your response John. So the crash log is not something that someone could use to hack or compromise my system, right? (Probably a silly question, but I gotta ask!) I looked at the report, and it's all hieroglyphs to me.
