Unable to pair iPhone 11 to Fiat, only provides 4 digit pairing code

I have bought a new “old car” - Fiat Doblo “66” plate. I am using an iPhone 11 max pro. I have tried to pair the car audio system with my phone, but both generate pairing codes (the car gives me 4 digit code and the phone 6 digit code).

So, when I turn on the car’s Bluetooth it generates 4 digit pair code. I see the car in my iPhones’ Bluetooth list, I press it and the phone generates 6 digit code which has nothing in common with the car’s 4 digit code. Though when I press “pair”, the car will s paired in my phone list, but connection not working (music apps can not connect to car).

What am I doing wrong?!? Please help! Thanks in advance!

Hello Lyubo72,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. The following steps can help when your unable to pair your iPhone with your car stereo:

  1. "Restart your device.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, and turn off Bluetooth. Wait for about 5 seconds, then turn Bluetooth back on.
  3. Check the manual that came with your car for more information on how to pair with a Bluetooth device. Most cars require a phone setup on the car display.
  4. If you've connected multiple phones to your car stereo, try renaming your device: Go to Settings > General > About > Name, and type a new name. Then try connecting again.
  5. Update your device.
  6. Make sure that your stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information." How to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your car - Apple Support
