there was a sudden huge change in the normal range on the graph for vo2max. Upper normal for my age etc used to be 34. Now it’s 40. Happened after a bday—but my vo2max estimate didn’t change just the normal range

It is likely that Apple is using new vo2max data tables.
That would make sense but what happened is different: for the last year upper normal has been 34, and I could see looking ahead that after my bday upper normal would be 30. And today I look and upper normal for the last year is now showing as 40 and upper normal going forward since my bday is also much higher at 36.
it’s not my vo2 that changed, it’s the range and it changed for the past and for the future by a huge amount from one week to today
Normal range is based on age. Therefore it would be expected to change with age and the phone/watch knows you age.
