iPhone 14 Pro Max overheating

I just got the iPhone 14 pro and it’s getting unusually hot to the point where I have to put the phone down because of the heat

As long as the phone does not shut itself down, it is within operating parameters.

Different people have different sensitivities to heat, so I can’t judge “too hot to hold.”

Hi, I have seen quite a few people talk about the overheating is it something that apple has taken note of ? A quick search will show multiple people all sharing the same concerns in regards to the overheating of the iPhone 14/pro/pro max

Hi, I have the similar issue after getting my 14PM. Went to Apple Store. Diagnosis checked, nothing unusual but deep down in our heart we know it’s not normal. I went to hard resetting my iphone. Meaning to say reset it only with iCloud photo back up. It turns out the phone back to normal. I think the root of cause is when we map everything from old iPhone to new iPhone, it just don’t work. Attached is my battery life after usage. Hope it helps.

It’s not normal. I just upgraded today from an XR and that phone never overheated like this in the 4 years I’ve had it. I’m taking this new one back to the store tomorrow.

Me toi I experice the overheating on my iphone 14promax while using it on just specific app facebook. Other than facebook there is no problem. Already contacted the apple support and done with the restore but they don't seem to find anything wrong with my phone

Contact Facebook, they are the ones who would need to fix the app.

The Facebook app has always used a lot of power and causes the phone to heat, especially in areas with a low cell signal level.

I upgraded from 11 Pro to 14 Pro and it’s a great hand warmer for the Winter! Not normal and I went to Verizon today to get a new one. On back order and I had to pay $112 sales tax for them to ship a new 14 Pro to my house. The Verizon guy said the overheating is a hardware issue and a few customers have returned their phones as well. I never had this issue with 11 Pro and it’s not normal. The battery drains by 40% in 2 hours. This one is a dud!

I went and turned off the auto play video on FB in my privacy set and it is still feeling like it’s super hot.

Could you please guide me through the process of getting it replaced? Did you have to pay extra for the replacement, and how exactly did you get apple care to replace it?

I would be really grateful for the response, as I have the same problem.

Did your phone stop getting warm/hot? And is the battery life better in comparison to before hard-resetting?

My iPhone 14 Pro Max gets extremely hot on the back to the right for the cameras when updating my phone or using it for longer periods of time. I came from a 13 Pro Max and never experienced my old phone getting as hot as my new one.
