Couldn’t sign in apple watch with deleted apple ID

I have an old apple watch which I signed in with an apple ID that I have deleted. Recently, I gave the watch to my friend and he tried to log in with my deleted apple ID and password, and it says that my apple ID or password is incorrect. Has anyone encountered the same issue?
