Mute the shutter Sound on iPhone SE 2022 from Japan

Hello,

I have bought an iPhone SE 2022 and it is a model from Japan. The model number is A2782. I left it in the original packaging, because I am afraid that the shutter sound for taking a photo will not be able to turn off. If the shutter sound will be always on, I want to send it back.

Is it true, that the shutter sound for taking a photo will not be possible to turn off? Or has it changed with iOS 15 or iOS 16?

I am not living in Japan so maybe geolocation can make a difference for that. I am living in Europe.

I would be very happy to get an answer from the community or even from Apple itself. It would be really annoying to have the shutter sound always on!

There are many countries where putting camera shutters to silent is illegal (e.g. Japan)

Hence if you have bought an iPhone from Japan or any of these countries, you cannot put it off, it has been designed specific for the country

MWHM2J/A - "J" indicates it is designed for Japan

The vendor claims, that with iOS15 and a SIM-Card not from Japan, this problem will not be there any more.

Also here are many comments, that claim, that after an update to iOS15, it was possible to mute the shutter sound.
