Mac Book Pro retina

After upgrading to Monterey version 12.6 my speakers sound output became distorted. With headphones the sound is clear. How can I return to the old version Catalina.

Can not change the sound input/output on Mac Just upgrade to macOS 13.5 Ventura from macOS Monterey. I found the switch between sound input/output is out of function. When I tried to click another input/output device, it just jumped back to the default one. Is there anyway to fix it? Sound_switch not working

You can try booting into Safe Mode to see if the internal speakers are now fine. If so, then you have some third party software installed which is causing a problem.

The laptop's speakers may be bad. Have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the Mac to confirm.
