Does anyone else hate that notifications are on the bottom of the lock screen on iphone 14?

When just checking your phone while its on the desk, table or couch by hitting the power button or screen to check for notifications. Are they now blocked by your hand cause they are on the bottom? Does this annoy or make sense to anyone that they are on the bottom? they are still on top if you are using the phone. we read from top to bottom. I just don't get the idea behind why they are now on the bottom and how this went through testing like this.
