How to turn off Strong Password Suggestions on iPhone

I've read through several forums but haven't found a straight answer. I like the way Safari auto fills my passwords whenever I'm visiting a known site. But I do not like the "strong Password suggestion" is there a way to remove the suggestion option? I'd hate to stop using Safari for this issue, not only is it time consuming when you're in a rush but also it'll tend to make my iPhone lag whenever I'm selecting from the options. (iPhone 14 Pro Max too) I know it might be an iOS 16 glitch but still, I need this to be an option. Stop forcing us to use features we do not wish, make them options please.

And that's why I suggested the feedback page. Apple has made it pretty clear they are not going to expend the enormous amount of time it would take to parse these forums for feedback.

Something like password suggestions is a feature of the operating system, so, use the section of Feedback related to the operating system you're using. Ditto for any pre-installed apps. And, when you can't figure out the right place, do your best and make sure that you are clear in the text box. It will get figured out.

My guess is that sending suggestions like that to Mr. Cook is not going to accomplish much.

in a previous comment i posted: "other than emailing the CEO, if you know of a method for the user base to make such a suggestion, please let us know if there is a best way of doing so. thank you! ♾️😎"

"such a suggestion" is referring to issues where an "app" and/or "OS" is not relative. for example, this concept i would like to suggest, "it would be wonderful if we could view all the suggestions & even vote on them."

the lack of a password suggestion default in Safari or system password issues are fairly obviously to be directed toward the most relative app. however, Apple doesn't seem to offer (unless i missed it) a conduit for *general suggestions* not specific to either an app or the OS. for example, a way to vote on suggestions from the user base, or suggestions for sorely missing apps which the user base has often requested (ie: "Paint").

so besides sending such a suggestion to the CEO of Apple which you feel is not going to accomplish much, how would you suggest a user does so? thank you for your advice! 😎

as you can see, many of us users agree 100% that the way Apple implemented this feature for password suggestions without offering a preference (or setting) to never suggest is poor. so please make sure to go to the feedback page for Safari & suggest Apple fix this issue... and yes, it NEEDS fixing because it's broken ("broken" = Windows-esque). ;-)

It’s the most useless feature. Suggests a flipping password I will never remember. What if I’m on a PC or a different device.

The password record is stored in your keychain and you can then access it from any Apple device that shares the same Apple ID. For non-Apple devices, you can look up the password in Settings>Passwords on your iPhone and copy it down.

Horrible feature. On one insurance website, you have no choice but to use the strong password, because the site JavaScript is looking at the password field and does not allow the chance for one to do anything. I open login up, go to the password field, and safari immediately pastes in a strong password *and locks the field!!*

Apple - you need to make this feature optional, and NEVER lock editing of the field. I never use it and it gets in the way all the time.

I said PC. Windows computer. What if I'm on a shared device. It's a terrible idea. Yea, let me write on paper a 27 character password when i go weeks without needing to hand write anything.

As I noted in the post to which you are replying, the data is stored on your iPhone and you can look at it there. If you don't have an iPhone, I think you're in the wrong forum.

Typical Apple. I wish I could switch, but over the years I've integrated too many apps in my life. That's how they get you. There's so many problems, the app store and its search limitations being my greatest issue with apple. However, I am, as is implied by replying, incredibly annoyed with the horrible Strong password suggestion - make it stop, my password is already complex and I have an in depth method for creating my passwords based on various variables...
