Control center
I have disabled my control center under passcode and Face ID, yet it is still functional. Any ideas why it won’t turn off?
iPhone XR, iOS 16

That setting under control center is still enabled, but I also tried disabling
1. disabled the control center and didn’t work.
2 rebooted phone. Still nothing
3 disabled all the buttons under allow access when locked and still nothing
4 reset phone nothing
5 tried blocking the camera just in case it uses Face ID and nothing
Basically control panel won’t turn off at all

I guess your issue is solved, but …

That is correct. I cannot imagine what you are trying to accomplish. (The answer is not “turn off Control Center.)
OK, I can explain why.
You set Settings > Face ID & Passcode > [Allow Access When Locked] Control Center = “off”. And that appears to you to not be working.
However, it is working! Because your iPhone is not locked when you look at it, since your Face ID unlocked it! Check Settings > Face ID & Passcode > [Use Face ID For] iPhone Unlock.
So I had disabled Face ID for testing and still after locking phone with right side button, control center still opens. However, if I leave the phone by itself and allow it to lock on its own, then it works. My wife’s phone control center is disabled after pressing right side button but she has an iPhone 12. Not sure if there is something different on the iPhone XR
i appreciate the help, I guess as long as it disables on its own I’m good. Just didn’t want someone to set phone in airplane mode if I was to loose it
thanks again
Is this what you did - turn off this setting? If so, carefully read the last sentence shown. If not tell us exactly how you think you disabled Control Center.
I’m just trying to do attached procedure but for some reason on this phone, the control center is accesible even when it’s disabled
You’re welcome.
Yours was one of the more unusual questions on these Communities. (By far, the most frequent question is “I forgot my passcode. How do I proceed?”)
Enjoy your iPhone.
