Keeping a move streak while switching to a new Apple watch

I have two questions: I have a 947 day move streak and I’m getting a new watch, and obviously, I’d like to keep the streak. Will restoring from backup on the new watch keep it so the new watch remembers the streak and adds to it? Will unpairing the old watch create the backup I need to use?

And my second question: if I’ve already closed my rings on my old watch the day I start using the new one, will they remain closed when I activate the new watch?

thanks everyone!

Unpair the watch after you close your rings for the day;

When you unpair your watch a backup of your health and fitness data is made automatically as long as the paired phone is signed into iCloud and the backup is uploaded to icloud,when you come to re-pair your watch you are asked if you want to set it it up as new or restore it from a backup,you choose restore from backup then all your health and fitness data is downloaded back to the phone and watch from the icloud backup and you carry on using your watch with all previous data intact.
