sold phone to another person for a trade/towards other computer services. I have accidentally activation locked the phone. How can I reset the code(s) so the new rightful owner will be able to activate it and remove the activation lock?

You need to remove the device from your Apple ID after erase which you have sold to another owener.
You may remove the device from your account after you erase it, Activation Lock will be turned off. This allows another person to turn on and use your device.

i do not have access to the original apple id, it's been changed a number of times, and phone numbers to verify with a code no longer valid.
