I recently purchased a phone from someone and they left their apple ID logged in due to forgetting the password. I am trying to reset it but it needs the apple ID password. If there is anyway you all can help, that would be appreciated.

The person from whom you purchased the iPhone will have to reset their AppleID password then remove the device from their AppleID. Once that’s complete, they will need to erase and reset the device.

If the former owner will not do these things, you will not be able to use the iPhone. In the future, always be sure the device you are purchasing is at the Hello/Welcome screen before completing the purchase.
