Apple Watch 5 upgrade
My iwatch 5 won’t check for upgrades. My phone app says “to update the software on your Apple Watch, you first need to update the software on your phone” but my phone is updated to os15.7?

To update to WatchOS9 your phone must be running ios16 or newer;
On the phone;
Settings/general/software update and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
