Is there a work around for how the timer displays on Lock Screen after the iOS 16 update?

I just updated to iOS 16 on my iPhone 13 pro. I am now wishing I hadn't. One of my biggest issues is how the timer display on the Lock Screen appears. It used to run in the background, with the countdown showing on the Lock Screen. After the update, the timer is displayed on the Lock Screen in large font with the option to cancel or pause it. I take specialty medication twice a day and set a timer for 2 hours after I eat. I am afraid that I may accidentally stop or pause it and miss taking a dose at the right time. Has anyone found a work around or solution to this problem?

Hello Ladibuglee,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. When you see the timer on the Lock Screen of your iPhone, you can swipe left on the banner and select "Clear." This will remove the banner for the timer from appearing in the Lock Screen of your iPhone and continue to function as expected. This is another option that's available, if you prefer not seeing the banner for the timer on the Lock Screen of your iPhone.

Best regards
