Can I safely delete my iCloud email account? I don’t use it for my Apple ID. It’s a secondary email and I receive over 50 spam emails a day. I send every spam email to abuse@icloud.com but they don’t stop the spam. So at this point I want to delete the whole email account. Is there any reason why I would need to keep this email address for my Apple devices?

There is no requirement to have an iCloud email address for your Apple devices. Add and manage email aliases for iCloud Mail on iCloud.com has more information for you about options for deleting an iCloud email.
You can’t delete or turn off a primary iCloud Mail address. You can’t use an alias to create a separate Apple ID, and an email alias can’t be converted to a primary iCloud Mail address.
Turning iCloud mail off on your device could be an option for you. See how to Change your iCloud settings.
