Change ping sound in iOS 16?

My phone is often lost in the morning in the dark in the room where my husband is sleeping. The new ping sound is much too obnoxious for me to use. Very disappointing as this was one of my favorite features.

Completely agree! For us autistic/ADHD individuals with sensory issues and who lose their phone daily and rely on this feature it's not only upsetting that they've changed the sound with no option but also that they've changed it to a sound that is SO jarring!

Same! Just found out it’s a different (horrible) chime when locating my iPhone via Apple Watch and instantly blame updating to iOS 16.1.1…

imo, on top of this goofy new Lock Screen design of the iPhone, this terrible ping sound is the cherry on top of a turd sundae 💩

I really hope Apple takes this concerns to their updates into consideration! I greatly dislike the new ping sound for find your iPhone. I miss the old sound and really wish there was a way to change it back. Another user made a great comment about autistic individuals having trouble with this sound as well.

I am hearing impaired, and do not hear certain tonal ranges. I was able to hear the older sound because it was louder and in a range I could hear. I cannot hear the new sound. I ping my iphone from my apple watch, which was a helpful feature. It would be great to be able to adjust this sound.

I don’t understand why Apple had to change something that was perfectly fine. This new sound is not loud at all before my phone could be deep inside the couch and I could hear the ping. Now I can not hear it if it was in the next room sitting on top of the coffee table. Apple if you are going to change something give an opportunity to change it back. Like the address bar in safari , you moved it to the bottom letting us change it back.

Can’t we even adjust the volume?! It’s like full-blast-drilling-into-my-brain-loud even when I have my ringtone turned down to the quietest setting.
