Macbook Pro taking wrong input

My MacBook pro 2012 A1278 is taking all input like shift key is pressed. Like all letters in capital and numbers in special characters. But only when I am trying to login and typing my password. I can't login to it. Not taking any command also like reset command. And my mac's keyboard is fine. Please tell me what to do?

Before going there...

If your mac sometimes starts in Safe Mode on its own, this is a clear sign that the problem is a physical issue on your keyboard.

You know, the way to start in Safe Mode is to... press and hold the SHIFT key. So you see, that's the problem.

Maybe something got in under the key, or for some other reason the mac is sensing the key being depressed.

Try attaching a USB keyboard when starting your mac - just as a test. Maybe you can borrow it from a friend or colleague for a few minutes.

See if you can type your password correctly using that keyboard.

Good job troubleshooting this.

By your description it seems something different. It looks like you may have accidentally activated “sticky keys”. Look in System Preferences->Accessibility->Keyboard and uncheck this.

It should not be difficult to find but I am not at my mac now to confirm the exact details. If you have trouble finding it let us know. I think we have found the problem.

Hey buddy, I checked my keyboard in keyboard viewer. And you were right, one of the shift key is not working. It's the right one. Can it be solved by cleaning it? Because I don't want to change my whole keyboard just because of the single key. And the original one is not available in my area. Can it be done by simply opening the specific key and cleaning it?
