Can I permanently UNLOCK my Macbook Air 2021?

Since I am 80 years old, when I die I want my children to be able to access my laptop, which they cannot because of touch ID. I can give them the password, but not "touch ID".

Is there any way I can unlock my laptop entirely without having to use any PW or "touch ID"? (I live alone, so no one else has access to my laptop if I have it unlocked permanently.)

Macbook Air password not working Bought my daughter an open box Macbook Air. We set everything up, including the touch ID. IOt is asking for her password for the laptop and the only password she ever uses is not working. Honestly, I cannot recall if we made a password while setting it up. She is college and freaking out :-) Thanks in advance for any advice on how to retrieve the password.

Touch ID is supplemental to the password. They do not need both Touch ID and the password to access it. Only the password.

In addition to KiltedTim's answer, you might be interested in How to add a Legacy Contact for your Apple ID - Apple Support.

You can add any number of Legacy Contacts, or remove any one of them at any time.

An Apple ID is linked to a person, so as far as Apple is concerned, you and your Apple ID are one and the same.
