My wifi keeps disconnecting as soon as I try to connect to a VPN

My wifi disconnects as soon as I try to connect to a VPN (I tried proton VPN and PIA). I need to use VPN as I am in a region with strict internet restrictions.

I am not sure if you have internet restrictions in your region how will you use VPN?

Please contact the VPN service provider.
