iPhone 14 Pro Signal Issues

I have an iPhone 14Pro and the signal is not as good as my iPhone 12 that I use for another line. I have noticed this in several states and almost all locations. Any suggestions?

My iPhone 14 max pro has virtually no reception in my house. We have 3 other 5g iPhones in the house (12, 13 pro, and 13 pro max) all of which have a strong signal and no dropped call issues.

I

The 14 also seems to have issues with Wi-Fi calls too, so I’ve had to revert to zoom calls on my laptop. My cellular provider is Verizon

There is nothing for Apple to fix, it’s your cellular carrier.

It’s explained in my post at the top of this thread.

Your Android has more range on the specific frequency it was assigned; if it were assigned to the same frequency band as your iPhone you’d see the same results.

Only proper configuration/tuning of the cell tower antennas and base station controller can change any of that.

Here is a summary of what we have been seeing and doing. It supports Dogcow-Moof’s explanation, but also the frustration we are having. The iPhone 14 is looking pretty bad to many of the Verizon customers and I would hope a phone maker would talk with the carriers to make sure the phones work as best they can.

So what you’re saying is that there is no fix for using 5g when the phone carrier is the problem so we are stuck with a new phone that won’t have the same service as the older phone even when I use WiFi so my next question is why didn’t apple tell anyone about this issue

We all like Apple products and that is why we are here. We are looking for something that will help. After countless hours on the phone with both Apple care and our carriers, there still doesn’t appear to be any progress. We are trying to help by posting on this forum, not just complain.

The iPhone 14 is a phone that has great features and with the right condition should be fast and reliable, but if you are on a Verizon network, that doesn’t seem to be the case for many.

It is not acceptable to have a flagship phone that is this unreliable and slow. That is all people are saying, no matter what the case.

No my post does belong here…. I left the T out in “can’t” hear anyone on the other end of the phone. I a Verizon customer with 5 iPhone 14 pro’s coming from an 11, 11 pro max, a 12 pro max and 2 13 pros. I am getting all of these problems with signal and reception. My family can’t talk to each other anywhere because of shotty reception.

Do an Internet search and you will find people with the latest Android devices are complaining of the exact same issues because it's a carrier problem.

From one thread on another forum:

Reception is very poor in Galaxy s22 ultra, don't know if it's just me, but, I've noticed online that so many people are having the same problem with this device.

I've tried to use different devices such as galaxy S20 Ultra or galaxy S10 plus and even IPhone 12 pro. All these devices seem to have a better reception comparing to my current Galaxy s22 ultra.

[ … ]

Samsung seems to be not listening to its customers and not responding to this matter at all.

So will those people then switch to iPhones?

There are tens if not hundreds of millions of iPhone 14 owners who use Verizon who are not experiencing this issue because it's all dependent upon conditions at and the configuration of your local cell towers; if you drive a few miles so your call is routed through a different tower, you may have no issues at all.

My 14 pro max is also having the same problem of weak signal. Even though i use the preferred network as LTE it network shows weak with only 2 signal bars. If i swap my SIM to my previous iphone X it shows full range with all 4 signal bar. This shows that there should be something apple should address or my network provider should tune.

As stated numerous times above, this shows your provider's local cell tower is at fault, as you are almost certainly not using the same cellular frequencies between the two phones.

Your network provider needs to properly tune their local cell towers or program their base station controllers not to assign devices to those frequencies until they get a chance to tune them.

I realize it's frustrating, but one way to prove this to yourself is to use your device several miles away when it's communicating with a different cell tower and you will quite likely find your reception is different (perhaps better, perhaps worse.)

I brought my iPhone 14 pro online bout 2 1/2 months ago and I’ve been having nothing but problems with it from the start. My Wi-Fi is fine but my data (bars) are always at 1-2 not 3 or 4 bars ever. I don’t understand. The call drops consistently and texts don’t go thru. Internet speed sucks and I have unlimited. I’ve called and went to teen mobile and they said nothing wrong on their end. Took it to the Apple Store they said nothing wrong there. Then I called teen mobile back and said “why did I turn I my new iPhone 11 and pay 120.00 a month just to have this phone drop calls and fail to call everywhere I go. They said I should bring it back to Apple but bc it’s past 30 days I can only get a refurbished phone. Then they said well there is no refurbished phones u will get a new one. So I went to the Apple Store a 2nd time and was told that if they still find nothing wrong with the phone they won’t exchange it. It’s very odd that when I go into these places my phone has 4 bars but as soon as I leave teen mobile it has a problem. Like mb they think I’m lying or something. Idk how I got a faulty phone is it bc I brought it online? What should I do? Seems like both places say they don’t see the prob but see I have used very lil data bc it don’t work!

So how long on average does it take a carrier to update to the new frequencies? I really want to trade back to my old iPhone since this is useless. I don’t get phone calls anymore, texts etc. when I need to receive a call now I give them my home phone over my cell phone. We’ve gone back in time.

Because if it's a tower issue that's exactly what you will see - that the phone will work perfectly in some areas.
