HDMI port not working after update 12.6

Hi all,

My HDMI 14 inch 2021 Macbook is not working correctly after updating to Monterey 12.6. I tried multiple screens and different HDMI cables. The screen says that there is no video output but is reacting when I put the cable in and out. Anyone has an idea what to do?

Thanks!

That's an ordinary 1920 by 1080p display. it should not be a challenge, unless...

HDMI cables you want for HDMI-only Displays (higher resolutions than 720p TV sets) are marked as Certified with an anti-counterfeiting tag and are labeled:

"Premium High Speed HDMI cable" or that + "with Ethernet" --OR--

"Ultra High Speed HDMI cable" or that + "48G"

Cables with No Certification tags are good for your standard 720p TV set, and not much more.

The Apple standard for its built-in hardware-accelerated displays, makes them suitable for full-motion video for production/display of cinema-quality video with NO dropped frames, and NO dropouts or partial-blank scan lines due to memory under-runs or other issues.

One thing that has changed with later version of MacOS software is the software's ability to read and respond to messages sent back from the display indicating that data arrived at the display with errors. Perhaps that change is what has caused the change for you.
